What happens after the auction or offer ends?


You've successfully closed the deal, now what? Once the transaction is completed MediaBids will e-mail you all the contact information about the advertiser. MediaBids handles payment, so you don't have to worry about getting paid. After the advertiser pays using MediaBids online payment process, we will forward payment to your publication.

  1. When do I find out if I've won an Advertiser Auction?
    At the close of an ad auction an advertiser will select a winner. You will be e-mailed as soon as the advertiser selects a winner.
  2. When can I contact the advertiser?
    After the advertiser has paid for the ad through MediaBids you will receive the contact information for the advertiser.
  3. How quickly is my publication paid?
    At the auction's close, an advertiser will be asked to pay for the ad space purchased. Once the payment process is completed, MediaBids will wait for the payment to clear. As soon as it clears, MediaBids will issue a check to your publication for the ad space. Most ad space will be paid for within 30 days after the payment has cleared.

  5. How will I know if someone buys one of my offers?
    You will be notified by email if one of your offers is purchased. You can also keep track of your offers by visiting the 'My Offers' page in the 'My Account' section of MediaBids.
  6. What happens after an offer has been bought by an advertiser?
    You will be notified by email when an offer has been purchased. This email will contain relevant information regarding contact information for the advertiser, as well as production information. In both the ongoing and one-time offer process, an advertiser is required to pay for the ad space purchased immediately. Once the payment process is completed, MediaBids will wait for the payment to clear. As soon as it clears, MediaBids will issue a check to your publication for the ad space. Most ad space will be paid for within 30 days after the payment has cleared.

    You'll want to wait until you receive the contact information, which assures you that the advertiser has successfully paid for the ad space.

  9. What happens after an Advertiser Auction closes?
    The advertiser will select a winner for the auction. The advertiser will weigh many factors in selecting a winner, including the ad space offered, the publication that submitted the offer and other details of the bid such as color and placement. After the winner is selected, the winning publication will be notified.

    As soon as the advertiser chooses a winner, your publication will be notified.
  11. How long does the advertiser have to choose a winner?
    MediaBids encourages advertisers to take action immediately after an auction closes. Advertisers must act on their bid offers before the date to reserve ad space expires, or they cannot purchase that particular ad space.
  12. My publication submitted a bid for the largest ad space and also the most insertions. Why wasn't my publication named the auction winner?
    The advertiser may have received an offer from a publication that better suited his target market, or perhaps the ad space offered from another publication included some incentives that were too good to pass up.

    You will not be informed who won an auction unless it was your publication.
  14. Can an advertiser select more than one winner?
    Yes. An advertiser can select multiple winners.

    After the advertiser pays for the ad space, the contact information is e-mailed to you.

    A publication can refuse any ad, however, you should contact MediaBids' business department at business@mediabids.com or call us toll free at 866.236.2259. Please refer to the MediaBids Terms of Service for more information.

    After the advertiser pays, your contact information is sent to the advertiser.

    View "My Purchased Ads" from your home page or My Account to view the contact information for an ad you sold.

    As soon as you receive the contact information you should contact the advertiser.

  22. How does the advertiser get the ad copy to me within my deadline?
    You will make arrangements with the advertiser for ad delivery. When you posted your offer ticket or placed a bid, you also posted deadline information, so the advertiser should be aware of your deadlines.
  23. The advertiser was supposed to send a camera-ready ad to my publication but did not, what should I do?
    It is the publication and the advertiser's responsibility to ensure ad materials are submitted in a timely manner. Please review MediaBids' Refund Policy for more information.
  24. What happens if the ad requires additional design that goes beyond the price the advertiser bid?
    If charges are accrued outside of an auction, your publication will be responsible for billing the advertiser for those additional charges. MediaBids cannot charge the advertiser more than the amount agreed to in the original transaction.
  25. Is the advertiser aware of my publication's strict production deadlines?
    When an advertiser purchases ad space, deadlines will be noted on the auction ticket.
  26. If we charge extra to design an ad, will the advertiser know that?
    You will indicate design fees both when you are bidding on an advertiser auction, and when you create a publication offer.
  27. Will my publication know the exact specifications of the ad it sold once the auction is closed?
    MediaBids will send your publication an ad insertion order that will outline the ad space sold and the amount of money MediaBids will pay your publication for the space. You may also view the details from the Purchased Ad section of your home page and My Account.
  28. What happens if the advertiser has a problem with the ad?
    Any disputes over the appearance of an advertisement are to be settled between the advertiser and the publication. MediaBids only handles the payment for the ad. Please refer to the Terms of Service for more information.

    The advertiser submits payment using MediaBids' online process. After the payment has cleared, MediaBids forwards payment to your publication.

    If you featured or highlighted the auction, those fees will be deducted from the payment for the ad. MediaBids also deducts the standard credit card fees.

    Whenever your publication sells an ad through MediaBids, we will generate an ad insertion order that is sent to your publication for your billing department.
