I just registered, why can't I use the site?
Before you can conduct transactions on MediaBids, you must associate with a publication after you have completed your personal registration. If your publication is not registered on MediaBids, you will have to register it first. -
Why do I have to find my publication?
To avoid duplication of publications in the MediaBids database, users are asked to search the site to see if their publication is in the database before registering it. If you don't find your publication in the database, use the link to register a new publication at the bottom of the search results page. -
How could my publication be in the MediaBids system if I have never been to the site?
Another person from your publication may have registered your publication earlier. -
I've clicked on "Find Publications," what do I do next?
You can search for your publication two ways: narrowing by using keywords (your publication's name, or city) or category selections. If you represent a newspaper you may want to search by its Circulation Area. If you represent a niche publication or a magazine you may want to try Editorial Focus. -
How do I know for sure I have the right publication?
Click on the publication name to see more details about the publication. Once there, if it is your publication, click the "I Represent This Publication link" -
What can I search for, and where can I search?
You'll find a row of links at the top of the MediaBids website which you may use to find available Ad Space, Publications, or Advertising Auctions. Click the appropriate link to begin your search. -
Can you explain how the search options work?
MediaBids' Search allows you to apply multiple filters (a keyword, or criteria from categories) to find what you're looking for. If you're looking for specific publications, you can narrow your search by selecting features that apply to the publication, such as Frequency, Publication Type, Circulation Area or Editorial Focus. Your results will include only publications that meet the criteria you selected, and will update as you add/remove more selections. -
Do I have to make selections from all the categories?
You may make as few or as many selections as you'd like from each category. If you make no selections in a category, that category will not be factored into the search. -
What do the numbers next to categories mean?
The numbers on the right of categories tell you how many results we have which match that selection. Once you choose selections, you'll see 2 sets of numbers - the first number shows within that specific selection how many results match choices you've already made; the second number is the overall number of matches for that selection. -
Some of the publication names are similar, how can I distinguish one from another?
Hovering over a result's row will show you a small box with more information about that publication. Clicking on the publication's name allows you to view more details about that publication and the publication's Media Kit. -
What if I can't find a particular publication I am looking for?
If you can't find a publication, you can try to search again. If you're certain the publication is not in the MediaBids database, you can register it. The link to register a publication is at the bottom of the search results page. -
Why are some of the publications in my results located in a different state than where I conducted my search?
A publication's headquarters may be in a different area than where it is distributed. To learn more about a publication's circulation area, click "View Circulation Area". -
I've found my publication, what should I do?
Click "Go" next to the publication and then use the link, "I Represent This Publication," to associate yourself with your publication. -
I clicked the "I Represent this Publication" link, now what?
When you clicked on the link an e-mail was generated to all the MediaBids users at this publication. The e-mail will ask them to confirm your use of the site for this particular publication. -
Can I use the site before another user confirms me?
Until a user confirms you, you cannot conduct transactions. You may want to alert the MediaBids users at your publication that you just associated with the publication and ask them to use the link in their e-mail to approve your use of the site. -
How will I know if someone approved or rejected me?
You will receive an e-mail telling you that your association has been approved or rejected. If you were rejected, you may submit your association request again. -
